LibriJamm - Love Invocation

about

This is a song about saying goodbye. More specifically, it’s about moving on and deciding to live your life to the fullest in the present. Why is it called Love Invocation then? Well, there’s multiple reasons... But, the one most relevant to “this” conversation is to invoke a love of the self. To love one’s self enough to not be held back by past regrets or future fears. To be secure enough in your own being, that you can walk with confidence regardless of what comes your way. Anyway enough with the sappy talk. Whoever you are, if you want it there’s a new dawn arising right in front of you. So cast off your regrets, trust yourself, live the life you want to live, and be bold as you step forward into your future. The genre is supposed to be UK Hardcore, one of my personal favorite genres. It's not quite there yet, but I'm getting closer. I wrote the main piano melody as if it were a vocalist, since the image I had in my head was of a young lady singing her heart out as she performs on stage. Confident and playful, acting grandiose and with flair. Knowing full well that her skill and natural charm has already captured the hearts and minds of everyone in the room. Why? because at this point she no longer cares. She isn't concerned about what the others are thinking. She isn't concerned about who she is or what she should be. She's doing what makes her feel alive. What she feels gives her life meaning. And so, she shouts out to all who can hear, telling her story and singing her favorite song, “Oh call, Call upon me. Just call. Call my name.” That being said, there aren't official vocals. So go ahead and sub in any words you feel that fit. As for the tone and feel... well, everything I compose ends up melancholic. (Which might be due to my over-reliance on the piano.) I was thinking that might be a bad thing. But after, sitting down and writing this, I think they end up that way because I value the open-endedness that melancholy provides. As someone else put it, "that sentiment of hope that stays for a long time but you don't know if your hopes and expectations will be fulfilled." Which to me, is an open invitation to take things into your own hands and try to make something happen. Either way, I find that songs like this always feel better whenever you can feel the wind blowing. ...Ah, I just realized. This song. That's what it's actually about isn't it. Freedom.
• There is a reference to Robert Miles' - "Children" at 0m 54s
• The main melody (2m 39s) is based on Deku's - "Le Train" from Sora no kakera (Exact notes used are different and rhythm differs, but there is some overlap.)
