This is about Sanae being the legbreaker for her mafioso family.

So… there’s a long story about how this track was developed.
But, ultimately what it boils down to is, we largely do not know Sanae’s motivations for doing what she does.

We know that she works for the Moriya Shrine.
And we know that investigates, fights, and schemes on Kanako and Suwako’s behalf.

But, we don’t know why she does it.
And, we especially don’t know how she feels about it.

With this understanding, I wrote this song about a possibility for the character.
The possibility that maybe, despite all her hard work, she dislikes her role as the Moriya Shrine Maiden.
She dislikes the posturing.
The deal brokering.
The secrecy.
The lying.
The violence.
The godhood.
The constant scavenging for faith.
She hates it all.

And yet, despite those feelings, she will continue.
She will just ignore the reality of her situation and press forward, acting as if everything is normal.
No matter how much it tears her up inside.

All for the sake of the two that she’s attached to.
The two people that she loves more than anything else.


There are meant to be lyrics starting from 11:14 - 12:22.
There is a reference/sample of Robert Miles’ - “Children” at 11:09.
The pluck melody starting at 11:14 is based on Linkin Park’s - “Numb.”
