You’re at a dim-lit lounge in the late hours of the night. Weed smoke swirling indoors, drinks in hand, and a 4-piece band on the stand. The DJ of the band assists the musicians with mesmerizing loops and delays that push and pull the listeners’ attention. Jazzy drum grooves thump along with a bass line that’s begging for answers. The final band member picks up their guitar after the band has already started playing, the instrument looking worse for wear (and distortion making it seem as though it’s on the fritz). They play what everyone else in the lounge feels. Distracted for a moment, in love with the present, and looking forward to the next distraction.
